If more than 50% of students are absent, class is rescheduled for make up and session is extended.

Applying ideas and thinking process from puzzles into a real game

Activity: in class contest for puzzle rush survival under 15 min.

Highest score in to achieve in puzzle rush survival gets a prize!

Week 2

May 2

Using calculation to select best move from 3 candidate moves.

Activity: Arena tournament on lichess or chess.com make sure to have accounts ready 

Week 3

May 9

Positional skills-advanced concepts.

Bishop pair, opposite bishops, isolated queen pawn.

Recognizing important rules in a game.

Using pawn structure to assist decisions related to trades.

Activity:  Positional in class contest.

Week 4

May 23

Openings:

Italian game for black, learning from Magnus and Hikaru. Depth up to 16 moves!

Carro cann for black. Depth 12-15 moves!

Activity: simul: chesswithmra goes 1.e4 full power for first 20 moves, you play black

May 30

Openings:

London system for white or 1.e4 to be decided based on votes at class. 

Activity: chesswithmra goes full power for first 20 moves, you play white

Endgames.
